David Reid Homes Brings Design and Build to Taranaki

David Reid Homes will expand its reach into the Taranaki region in 2019 with the opening of David Reid Homes New Plymouth.

Headed by directors Nathan and Karen Mumby, pictured right, David Reid Homes New Plymouth will continue the company ethos of building high quality homes.

Nathan and Karen Mumby currently head commercial construction company Custom Construction, specialising in commercial, residential and swimming pool builds.

Their decision to open a David Reid Franchise was made to separate their business into two divisions, commercial and residential, and to utilise contractors who are specialised in each industry.

The commercial side of their business will still operate as Custom Construction, while the residential side of their business will fit under the David Reid Homes title.

“Locally we are a very experienced company; David Reid Homes is a really good fit for us. I think their style really fits in with Custom Construction,” Nathan says.

“It’s their style of home, they really are unique in the market with their style and branding. We have always tried to be the same, create beautiful homes that have that little extra something.”

Custom Construction won the Supreme House of the Year Award in 2017 for Taranaki, and have headed many high profile builds in the area, including Vivian Pharmacy and the SBT fit out.

The David Reid Homes commitment to quality aligns well with their own values, Karen adds.

Their colleague, Darryl Taylor, pictured left, will head the sales side of the business, following his 2018 stint with a successful design and build company in New Plymouth, prior to which he was consistently the top office achiever for Bayleys Real Estate Taranaki.

Darryl was also drawn to the quality and consistency of David Reid Homes builds, and is looking forward to assisting clients in New Plymouth to change their lives with clever and well built homes.

“Gaining clients for life is also a goal so that we can build houses for their family for years to come,” Darryl says.

“Our clients can expect to see us actively working and sponsoring community events while also improving the design and build industry here in Taranaki.”

Nathan and Karen will continue to operate the commercial side of their business under Custom Construction, and foresee their work in the residential sector continuing as it has been, with the added horsepower of the known and trusted national David Reid Homes brand behind them.

“We’ll just continue with building new homes, or changing an office space to make the work environment more comfortable; every day we are changing people’s lives,” Nathan says.

“The community can expect to see us everywhere.”

David Reid Homes New Plymouth already has a new home in progress in the Sycamore Development which is set to become their showhome around March 2019.
