Three David Reid Homes Builds Named House of the Year Finalists

Three beautiful David Reid Homes builds have been announced as finalists in the Registered Master Builders House of the Year Awards for 2019.

Master Builders House of the Year is a prestigious competition that showcases the incredible workmanship of New Zealand builders and celebrates building excellence in our country.

David Reid Homes Waitaki/South Canterbury has had two of their builds selected to go through to the Nationals.

Having already been awarded a Gold and Regional Category Winner for Mid and South Canterbury, this stunning Weston home can now add House of the Year Finalist to their list of accolades.

It may be small but there’s no shortage of personality and comfort in this three-bedroom, two-bathroom build. The mono-pitch design rises to let in light and warmth. Glass sliders open off the main living area to a deck with a pergola that’s well placed for entertaining. Generous grounds enhance the feeling of space.

Their second build to make it through to the finals is situated in Oamaru and is optimised for sun and scenery with a mono-pitch design, keeping a low profile in the landscape. A combination of cedar and weatherboard breaks up the expansive facade. Not only has this build made it into the Top 100 but has also been awarded Regional Category Winner, Regional Lifestyle, and the Gold award for Mid to South Canterbury.

Auckland – Counties

The David Reid Homes Counties build selected as a House of the Year Finalist is a stunning five-bedroom family home, reflecting the very best in indoor and outdoor comfort in the Karaka Lakes subdivision.

David Reid Homes Counties have utilised three key materials to define the strong, contemporary exterior: flat tray profile cladding, timber cladding and concrete tilt panels with a rough-sawn timber finish.

With a Regional Category Award and Gold Award already under its belt, the team at David Reid Homes Counties are thrilled to see their architecturally designed home just south of Auckland make it through to the finals.
